Parking standards and policy documents
Traffic and transportation design is based on the Planning and Building Act, on regulations and on guidelines. However, some design issues lack set standards, and thus a municipality or local authority may seek to establish policies and guidelines for design.
To write policy documents, the first stage involves research work and study of the existing statutory situation, of trends in Israel and around the world, of the nature of the authority and its needs; the second stage involves analysis of the data and formulation of the document in collaboration with the authority.
These documents may be granted statutory status (such as guidelines and parking standards) or constitute guiding policy documents that accompany the work of the authority.
